Some Things Never Change (I Guess)

__________________________________________________
Regardless of the fact that it was nearly 18 months ago that I 'left the fellowship' of the German Baptists. I just found out tonight that the ghosts of fellowships past still haunt me spreading rumor and sowing strife. The sad part is people are listening and consequently I'm still living in the same drama that the 5 years prior to my 'departure from the faith' was plagued with.

*sigh*

Can I just give up?

Has God changed?

Please forgive me for speaking the words to you that I so often need spoken to myself. I don't mean to be harsh or offer pat answer. It's just what comes to my mind as I read your post.

I love you bro.

I have often felt like taking my spiritual ball and going home. Of course, then I feel like "those" people have won, so it never lasts long. I think "Simply because I do not worship God the way you do does not give you the authority to try to take God away from me."

Well it hasn't hit the West Coast so you're safe! Throw it over your shoulder and put your shoulder to the grindstone...8-)

@simplypynki-I told my wife last night that if I just 'let them have their racket' it would feel like they had won.

hmmmm....

after rereading my comment, it seemed uncaring and that's not correct. I do care, but giving those people who have nothing to do but talking about others even one inch of our brain space means "they" have won!

@maggie - 'they' still affect me because others around me have allowed themselves to be 'still affected' by them.

They effect you because you still care about them and what they think. It doesn't matter what folks say about us. If the rumors aren't true then we walk tall, hold our head high and stay focused on Jesus. His light is brighter than the darkness. Truth wins in the end! We are told to, "love those who despitfully use us."

I wish people would just mind their own business. Who are they to judge? God? Ha!

I'm a former "German Baptist" myself. Honestly, it's nice to be a "former"!
